We have all been told that we are what we eat, but how does nutrition affect athletic performance? Can the food we eat alter our endurance, strength, speed or even our mental performance? Do our carbohydrate, protein, fluid, vitamin, and mineral requirements differ according to our sport? When is the best time to eat and drink? Are you interested in learning about the latest information regarding supplements? What special nutrition concerns do athletic women have?
To reach your highest potential, all of your body systems must be perfectly tuned. Nothing is more important to your well-being and ability to perform than good nutrition. Eating the right foods helps you maintain desirable body weight, stay physically fit, and establish optimum nerve-muscle reflexes.
Nutritional Counseling Services offer Dietary Analysis, Customized Meal Planning and Unlimited E-mail Consultations. These services will provide you with:
- Evaluation of nutrient intake (vitamins and minerals) to determine adequacy/inadequacy
- Diet analysis according to the Canada Food Guide to Healthy Eating and Nutrient Recommendations for Canadians and advice on how to make the diet more adequate based on these guidelines
- Calculation of basal metabolic rate to estimate caloric requirements and estimate of fluid intake
- Customized meal plans to enhance current nutritional practices and help make informed choices in the future
- Recommendations ideas on how to incorporate adequate Carbohydrates, Protein and Fat into daily diet
- Advice on nutrition in general and nutrition related to training
Dietary Analysis
- 3 day Food Record that will be analyzed to evaluate the clients average daily intake of Carbohydrates, Fat and Protein calories
- Food Record will include 2 weekdays and 1 weekend day
- Nutrient intake (vitamins and minerals) will be evaluated and can be compared to norms to determine adequacy/inadequacy and change in food patterns can be made based on results
- Diet will be analyzed according to the Canada Food Guide to Healthy Eating and Nutrient Recommendations for Canadians
- Recommendations will be made to make the diet more adequate in nutrients and will be based on estimated basal metabolic rate
Customized Meal Planning
- Meal plans for breakfast, lunch, supper and snacks will be sent out to the client based on the individual needs and goals.
- Customized meal plans will be used to guide the client to enhance their current nutritional practices and will help clients make informed choices in the future
- Advice will be given on how the client can make their diet more adequate based on the Canada Food Guide to Healthy Eating and Nutrient Recommendations for Canadians
- The customized meal plans will give the client ideas on how to incorporate adequate Carbohydrates, Protein and Fat into their daily diet,
- Meal plans will also advise the clients on adequate caloric and fluid intake for the day and suggestions as to what to eat pre and post exercise
E-mail consultations
Client receives unlimited e-mail consultations regarding any nutritional concerns that they may have. This can be related to nutrition in general or to their sport/training.
How To Register
STEP 1: SIGN UP
Send an email to info@endurancematters.com. Endurance Matters can help you decide on a package that best meets your individual requirements. After sign up is complete you will be assigned a nutritional counselor to best meet your needs.
STEP 2: ATHLETE ASSESSMENT
You’ll then be sent questionnaires and forms via email. They will be used to gather information pertaining to your current lifestyle, exercise and eating habits.
STEP 3: CLARIFICATION
Once registered there will be a follow-up email to gather more details and/or clarification to begin preparing your nutrition plan.
STEP 4: EVALUATION
Once the assessment is complete you will receive an evaluation of your previous nutrition habits determining strengths and weaknesses, and how to best proceed based on the dietary analysis and meal plans.
STEP 5: EMAIL CONSULTATION
You’re encouraged to provide plenty of email correspondences and feedback throughout the course of your nutrition package. This
STEP 6: FOLLOW-UP
For those clients with extended packages of 6 months or 12 months, multiple dietary analysis and customized meal plans are administered. You along with your nutritional counselor can determine the optimal placement of dietary assessments and meal plans based on a variety of factors including certain training periods whether it is in preparation for an event or during a recovery period.
Rates
Clients receive a full Dietary Assessment, Customized Meal Plans and E-mail for a period of 3, 6 or 12 –months
- 3-months: $140 (1 dietary analysis, 1 customized meal and unlimited e-mail)
- 6-months: $280 (2 dietary analysis, 2 customized meal and unlimited e-mail)
- 12-months: $520 (4 dietary analysis, 4 customized meal and unlimited e-mail)
